The family writes --
Enid Steir, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, was born in 1934 and passed away on January 30, 2020 at her long-time home in Springfield, NJ.
She is predeceased by her mother, Pauline Bratter and father, Morton Bratter. She is survived by her husband, her soul mate of 60 years, Alan Steir, her sister, Gloria Sheldon, her son Robert Steir, her daughter, Michelle Tempkin (husband Orin) and her beloved granddaughters, Jenna and Samantha.
After being a stay at home mom, she earned her Associates Degree from Union County College, her Bachelor’s from Kean College, all with straight A’s, and became a Bat Mitzvah as an adult at Temple Beth Am in Springfield.
She grew up in Irvington and then Newark, NJ. Her career began as a legal secretary for a top Newark firm. For many years she worked as a principle secretary for executives at various companies, a majority of them for CM Brown.
Lastly, she was an exceptional birthday card writing poet for her family, and an accomplished artist, winning a 2003 "First Place, Best of Show" in the annual Union County Senior Citizen Art Show. She is greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
