Obituary for Leonard Waldman

The family writes --
Leonard (Lenny) Waldman, 83, of Cranford, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey.

A Brooklyn native and the son of Alex and Minnie Waldman, Lenny, and his first wife Joyce who died in 1986, married and raised three children. Lenny graduated from Brooklyn Tech and attended Brooklyn College. He entered the computer field in its infancy - when a computer filled the room.
He was employed at Manischewitz Wine Company in Brooklyn for 18 years as a Management Information Systems Director. He continued his career as MIS Director at Master Trouser Company until his retirement.

In 1990 Lenny married Lois (Rabbino) Waldman and moved to Cranford where he was a member of Temple Beth-El Mekor Chaim and its Men’s Club, and an associate member of Roselle Cranford Hadassah.

Lenny is survived by Lois, their children, including Lenny’s children from his first marriage: Mark (Linda), Steven (Sharon), and Amy Grant (Bob), Lois’s two sons and a daughter: Jill Boskowsky (Scott), Douglas Rabbino (Deborah), and Jason Rabbino (Stacey), along with his loving grandchildren: Joshua, Allison, Jacob, Violet, Michelle, Kevin, Danielle, Brandon, Jennifer, Peri and Ethan, great-granddaughters Emily and Mia, and his sister, Sylvia Koenigsburg.

Lenny and Lois enjoyed life to its fullest, whether at home in beautiful Cranford, away in California or Colorado, or in many other states. He and Lois also enjoyed cruises and travels to Europe and Israel, but he especially loved the USA.

Lenny was the consummate tinkerer and “inventor” of a vast array of Rube Goldberg creations and contraptions. From high tech to the kitchen sink, Lenny’s life’s work was to fix the unfixable. And in his spare time he loved to treat friends and family alike to elaborate personalized greeting cards that made every occasion special.
