Phyllis Klurstein (nee Eiselman), 87 years old, died on May 12, 2019 at NuVista Rehab Center in Wellington, Florida after celebrating Mother’s Day with family and friends.
Born in NYC, Phyllis moved to New Jersey after graduating from Brooklyn College’s Dental Hygiene Program, and marrying Jerry Klurstein (the love of her life) in 1955. She lived in Springfield, NJ and then divided time between Chatham, NJ and her home in Delray Beach, Florida.
Phyllis was an avid reader, and baseball fan. She also loved going to the movies, comedy shows, out to dinner, shopping and vacationing with her family (especially to celebrate her many birthdays). She was a very generous mother and grandmother, and told us this was most important to include in her obituary!!
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Jerry. She is survived by her children, Caren (husband Rodney) of Livingston, NJ, Richard of Elizabeth, NJ and Alyse (husband Chris) of Wellington Fla and by her brother, Malcolm Eiselman of Florida. She is survived by grandson, Dan (wife Meredith) and granddaughter Jess. She was extremely proud of both of them. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, whom she adored, Cameron, Tyler and Isabel.
Family was very important to her, and she constantly reminded us via detailed stories of those friends and relatives whom she greatly missed, and will now be joining.
A graveside service will be held at King Solomon Cemetery, Clifton, NJ on Wednesday May 15 at 12pm. Shiva will be observed on Wednesday May 15th and Thursday May 16th from 2pm-4pm, and on May 15, May 16th and May 18 from 7pm-9pm at the home of Caren and Rodney Roig.
